The Lakers are exploring options to strengthen their roster ahead of Dec. 15, when recent free agents become available for trade.


According to The Athletic, Lakers management is currently leaning toward trading Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn and picks by soccer predictions (one first-rounder and/or several second-rounders) for role players to bolster the rotation.


In this scenario, the Lakers would still be able to trade Russell Westbrook and a first-round pick closer to the deadline.


The Californians are still open to trying to trade Westbrook and draft assets for a star player, but that scenario is less likely than a small deal involving Beverley and Nunn.


Westbrook has improved since being benched, and the Lakers have six wins in their last eight games.


The Lakers want to strengthen their sniper team and add size through the trade.
